Who is Moxie Mocha? I LOVE COFFEE. Can’t you tell?
Mocha Latte is one of my favorite drinks.
I am deaf. I grew up in a small town America and on a farm. I went to a public school that was about 30 miles away; it had a deaf oral program. When I was in elementary school, there were 40 deaf students in the elementary deaf program. While going to school, I attended a local signing class with my father. He and I learned sign language together. First, it was ASL/PSE. Then we went to a different local signing class, which was SEE. At the time, we didn’t know the difference between ASL and SEE. Then I went to high school that had ASL classes as foreign language. That class “straightened me out.” After high school, I went to a small liberal arts college with interpreters. That is where I met my husband.
After college, I worked for a couple of years before going back to school. I went to a state university for graduate school, and am almost finished with the program. This fall, I will have my masters. Currently, I am working in a deaf-related field, and I love my job.
This blog focuses on the arts — writing reviews on books, movies, plays, art shows — with an occasional off-topic entry. Whatever gets my attention, I will write. If you have a book, an art show, or a movie that you would like for me to review, please contact me at moxiemocha@gmail.com
